How to get Your Bot Token

  1. Message https://t.me/BotFather in telegram.

  2. Type /newbot or click on the prompt from the left side of the chat, once you are done BotFather will give you a BOT_HTTP_TOKEN

  3. Invite the Bot into your monitoring chat

  4. Send a test message with /id @YOUR_BOT_HANDLE

  5. Open up your browser and open https://api.telegram.org/bot{BOT_HTTP_TOKEN}/getUpdates, replace the {BOT_HTTP_TOKEN} with your BOT_HTTP_TOKEN

  6. In the response generate find chat > id, it will start with - sign, copy all and put BOT_HTTP_TOKEN, Chat Id into your .env
