Description
HI, Adobe team
While studying my notes in PDF format, I found myself frequently needing to zoom in and out to view diagrams and handwritten content more clearly. Repeatedly using the mouse or pressing Ctrl with '+' felt time-consuming and interrupted my focus. At that moment, I instinctively tried using just the '+' and '-' keys out of convenience — but realized they didn’t work for zoom.
Description
I would like to suggest a new feature for Adobe Acrobat Reader on desktop platforms:
Enable zoom in and zoom out functionality using the laptop’s built-in '+' and '-' keys (on the main keyboard, not just the numeric keypad).
Currently, zooming requires using the mouse, touchpad gestures, or keyboard shortcuts involving the Ctrl key (e.g., Ctrl + '+' or Ctrl + mouse scroll). However, allowing simple '+' and '-' key presses to control zoom directly (without requiring Ctrl) would enhance accessibility and improve workflow efficiency.
Why do you need this feature or component?
This feature would significantly improve user experience by:
Saving time during reading and editing by providing a quick zoom control.
Helping users who rely more on the keyboard than mouse or touchpad.
Making the software more convenient for users on laptops that lack an easily accessible numeric keypad or gesture controls.
Aligning with user expectations from other PDF viewers or image editors that support basic zooming via '+' and '-' keys.
Additional context
This feature could be implemented as an optional setting (e.g., "Enable zoom with +/- keys") to avoid conflicts for users who use those keys for other purposes.
