What happened?
I currently reading through the docs for Budget Templates and noticed an inconsistency in the language used to describe actions.
https://actualbudget.org/docs/experimental/goal-templates#how-to-apply-the-templates
The user first learns that "applying a template" against all categories, only changes categories which aren't budgeted yet.
A bit further down then the users learns that when they "apply" a template to a group or single category, it apparently overwrites all the values.
This is quite counter-intuitive and something that I tripped over when I just played around with the app.
Apply budget template will run all templates in categories that currently have 0 budgeted. This will leave any existing budget amounts intact.
vs.
Single Category: Use the "Apply budget template" option shown below from the budget field drop down to apply templates to just that category. This will overwrite any existing budgeted amount.
vs.
Apply templates to a single category group: Use the "Apply budget templates" option shown below from the category group drop down to apply all templates to categories in a specific group. It will apply to the month furthest to the left in your budget view if viewing multiple months. This will overwrite any existing budgets in the categories in the group.
