PyPi entry needs updated also, states:

should be:
It includes the license keys from SPDX https://spdx.org/licenses/ (version 3.27) and ScanCode LicenseDB (from scancode-toolkit version 32.4.1, last published on 2025-07-22). See https://scancode-licensedb.aboutcode.org/ to get started quickly.

Cygwin package maintainer - notice patterns when mis-/match prepping distro package upgrade announcements.

Don't know enough about Python or PyPi, other than to leverage the packaging system to get packages built, and write simple test programs, with requests to and hints from main Cygwin python maintainers.
Happier entering bugzillas or emailing bug lists, than forking and cloning GitHub repos I don't use locally to submit PRs, after rereading the PR docs again, and jumping thru GH hoops. ;^>

[I think I kicked off Cygwin use of SPDX by adding my own package build variables LICENCE{,_SPDX,_URI} after seeing mentions, SBOM issues, and Callaway usages in Fedora specs, which we often use as "patterns" and hints for new Cygwin packages, also OpenSuSE OBS mirror, although Cygwin packaging is based on Gentoo portage, and those and Debian control/rules often have useful info and patches.]
