This PR adds a collection of simple Python utility functions to demonstrate basic Python functionality:

Functions Added

🙋‍♂️ greet_user(name, age=None)

  • Greets a user with their name
  • Optionally includes age in the greeting
  • Returns a personalized message

🔵 calculate_area_circle(radius)

  • Calculates the area of a circle given its radius
  • Uses the math.pi constant for accuracy
  • Returns the calculated area as a float

is_even(number)

  • Checks if a number is even or odd
  • Returns True for even numbers, False for odd
  • Simple modulo operation implementation

Features

  • ✅ Comprehensive docstrings with parameter and return type documentation
  • ✅ Example usage in if __name__ == "__main__": block
  • ✅ Mix of string manipulation, mathematical calculation, and boolean logic
  • ✅ Follows Python best practices and PEP 8 style guidelines

Testing

The file includes example usage that demonstrates all three functions working correctly.

Description by Korbit AI

What change is being made?

Add three new utility functions: greet_user, calculate_area_circle, and is_even, to the utils.py module, including example usage in the __main__ block.

Why are these changes being made?

These utility functions provide basic operations that are commonly needed in various programming tasks: generating personalized greetings, calculating the area of a circle, and determining the evenness of a number. Adding them to utils.py centralizes these routines for easy reuse and maintains cleaner code across potential future projects that may require similar functionality.
