A semester group project recreating (and perhaps adding to) the classic PacMan Game
PacMan is a popular arcade game created in the 1980s. It is often credited with being a landmark in video game history and is among the most famous arcade games of all time. PacMan has the highest brand awareness of any video game character among American consumers, recognized by 94 percent of them.
The player controls PacMan through a maze, eating dots. When all dots are eaten, PacMan is taken to the next stage. Four ghosts roam the maze, trying to catch Pac-Man. If an enemy touches Pac-Man, he loses a life. When all lives have been lost, the game ends.
Near the corners of the maze are four larger, flashing dots known as Power Pellets that provide PacMan with the temporary ability to eat the ghosts. The ghosts turn deep blue, reverse direction and usually move more slowly. When a ghost is eaten, its eyes remain and return to the center box where it is regenerated in its normal color and once again chases PacMan
Dots are worth 10 points each Power Pellets are worth 50 points each
Eaten ghosts increase in value (during the same Power Pellet): The first ghost is worth 200 points The second ghost is worth 400 points The third ghost is worth 800 points The fourth ghost is worth 1,600 points
