Welcome to the Domination wiki!
Domination is an Arma 3 mission where human players fight bots and/or other humans for combat objective victories. This award winning game mission stands as one of the oldest missions of the Arma franchise. Domination was created by Xeno. The game code repository is open source on Github.
The Domination mission provides several important features for the players:
- target system - defines locations and objectives for the players
- scoring system - scoreboard based on player and team achievements
- vehicle asset reward system - taking objectives may earn new team vehicles for the fight
- squad system - connect human players as in-game squad mates
- movement - help move the players to the fight
- combat functions - vehicle repair, artillery, ammo drop and much more
A Domination game can involve fighting against human players and bots or only human players. The game style depends on the specific Domination server settings.
Some game style differences you may see:
- humans v enemy bots
- humans v enemy bots vs other humans
- friendly bots (recruitable)
- player score persistent / routinely reset to zero
- all weapons available / must be earned by score
- fighting ground and air vehicles as victory rewards / no vehicle rewards
- all combat features available / must be earned by score
- limited player lives / unlimited player lives
- “magic” healing or repairing / realistic wounds and damage
Players: See the quickstart and more on the Player Guide page.
Administrators: There are many mission settings which affect gameplay. See the Administrator Guide for more information on how gameplay and server settings are related.
Whether you play with arcade-magic settings or with strict realism settings it’s important to remember the goal of playing Domination isn’t about the score or the objectives. It’s about having fun. Even failure can be fun with the proper amount of blood and explosions!
