Paragraph Block: Placeholder text is incorrect when other blocks cannot be inserted #55378

Open

Description

Description

The paragraph block displays a placeholder called "Type / to choose a block" by default unless an explicit placeholder attribute is specified. However, this placeholder is not appropriate if all but the paragraph block are disabled, or if the allowedBlocks attribute prohibits the insertion of anything other than the Paragraph block. Because when I type the slash character, nothing happens.

In this case, I think another placeholder, such as "Write text" or "Write paragraph text", would be appropriate.

Step-by-step reproduction instructions

  • From the preferences menu, disable everything except the paragraph block.
  • The placeholder text "Type / to choose a block" appears.
  • Even if you type the slash key, nothing happens.
