About Permissions

Some users have asked about why some of my add-ons have certain permissions. Some of the permissions listed on the Firefox Add-ons website look very scary, like the Access your data for all websites permission used by many add-ons. In the interest of full transparency, the permissions used by this extension are detailed below:

Access your data for all websites

This permission allows the add-on to view and edit content that is displayed on the website. This is necessary so that the extension can add the required code to each page to override the default scrollbar.

Access browser tabs (Optional)

This permission allows the add-on to get information about what websites are open in which tab and to load the correct settings for each website. I've included an in-depth explanation of why some users may require this permission, which can be found on the Why the addon needs permission to access browser tabs page. This permission is not granted automatically when you install the add-on. Some users on certain versions of Firefox may be asked to grant the add-on this permission, if required.

Download files and read and modify the browser’s download history (Optional)

This permission allows the add-on to save a backup copy of your add-on settings to your computer. Although it's not technically a "download" because everything is stored on your computer directly, your browser treats any file saving as a download. This permission is not granted automatically when you install the add-on. You will be asked to grant the add-on this permission the first time that you save a backup from the add-on settings page.
