Description
Description
I would like to send specific requests to my home server on an hourly basis. Currently, I have this configured using the "Run repeatedly" option under "Trigger & Execution Settings" set to "Every hour" However, I have encountered two issues that limit its automation:
- Manual Start Requirement: The execution requires manual initiation (e.g., at 08:00), which reduces automation efficiency.
- Gradual Timing Drift: Each execution slightly deviates from the previous schedule. For instance, if I manually start it at 08:00, subsequent executions gradually shift by a few minutes. Eventually, the process runs at inconsistent times, such as 13:46, requiring manual correction—defeating the automation purpose. (I do believe this specific issue is a known issue as there is a warning about it in the app)
Proposed Solution
I would like the option to schedule executions at specific hourly timestamps (e.g., 08:00, 09:00, 10:00, etc.) rather than using a relative timing approach based on the previous execution. This would ensure a fixed, predictable schedule without timing drift. I don't mind it executing a few minutes earlier or later, I just don't want it to drift with each execution.
Final Thoughts
This is a minor issue, and I truly appreciate the functionality provided by this application. Since it’s free (and the best one I’ve found so far), I understand if this request isn’t prioritized. However, I wanted to share the suggestion in case it aligns with future improvements.
