Musical-Data-Visualization

Data analytics and visualization of harmonic data for for several hundred pop/rock songs representative of singles

Introduction

What makes musicians pick the chords they do? Do instruments like guitars, pianos, and voices lead to different harmonic choices?

Dataset Information

The dataset was obtained from dateascientist's GitHub (https://github.com/dateascientist/wrangling-musical-data/blob/master/datasets/bb_chords.csv). This dataset is originated from McGill Billboard Dataset, which includes professionally tagged chords for several hundred pop/rock songs representative of singles that made the Billboard Hot 100 list between 1958 and 1991.
