Also, why are you using CMake to build your plugin? It is more complex than a simple Makefile like https://github.com/VCVRack/Fundamental/blob/v2/Makefile and likely to break in a future version of Rack, due to possible differences of the build process.

That's... Odd. Very odd. I've been testing with and using both builds built locally and builds made with qno's Github Actions workflow for months now and I've had no crashes like that, and I've not received reports of it crashing... Is Meta the only module that crashes? Maybe it's only on Linux but not Windows and Mac OS?
That's quite disheartening to hear :(

Also, why are you using CMake to build your plugin? It is more complex than a simple Makefile like https://github.com/VCVRack/Fundamental/blob/v2/Makefile and likely to break in a future version of Rack, due to possible differences of the build process.
I'm using CMake for a combination of reasons:

• I found it much easier to work with, particularly for building my fork of svg_theme by Paul-Dempsey and vcv-svghelper by Dustin Lacewell
• I was unable to get the fmt library to work through the header-only version
• Most importantly, it allows me to generate compile_commands.json databases, which was required for code completion in my code editor and allows me to make cppcheck give me better results than anything I've gotten without it

Is this too much of a problem? I'm using qno's CMake file, which Surge and Airwindows also use so if it ever breaks, I imagine those projects will figure out a solution pretty quickly and I should be able to pull in their fixes.

I've fixed it now, it was an issue that only happened if you had no saved settings for the plugin for VCV to load. Hopefully there should be no more issues remaining.
