flake8-continuation warnings & maintenance #3866
Description
pkg_resources will be deprecated as early as this year, and flake8-continuation hasn't seen a push in over 5 years. So running our flake8 locally on new Python versions vomits UserWarnings
flake8-broken-line exists if we still care about this and astral-sh/ruff#3465 shows recent interest in a ruff rule, with some hangup on black compatibility.
This is also a nudge towards a broader "lint needs and health check" issue that I'm not opening right now.
Edit: flake8-requirements similar, though is more actively maintained. I believe there is an open issue for this in ruff as well.
