Why only the normal mig before blacknapalm upgrade? Why not the nuke mig before the nuke upgrade? Isnt this 1 way weaker and less used overall? Or is this how the committee approved this change, if so ignore my question. |

Summary
This change reduces the reload time of all pre-Black Napalm China MiG variants by 50% (from 8 seconds to 4 seconds). This does not apply to the the Nuke MiG variant, which is considered unique enough to be handled separately (despite it being even more warranted to address Nuke vs Infantry imbalances).
Rationale
In 1.04, pre-Black Napalm MiGs are relatively weak against most units besides infantry and a few light vehicles, which makes their 8-second reload time quite excessive. It takes longer to reload a pre-Black Napalm MiG (8s) than an Aurora (5s), despite the Aurora having significantly higher damage output, which feels counterintuitive when considering the MiG's role as a supporter/harasser compared to a heavy bomber.
Similarly, it takes 2 seconds to reload after the Black Napalm upgrade is researched, which is a hidden (and much greater) 4x bonus on top of the apparent +25% damage boost. It's almost as if the upgrade should focus on the reload speed boost, with a hidden damage bonus instead.
Reducing the MiG's reload time by 50% brings its utility closer in line with player expectations while remaining double that of a Black Napalm MiG, preserving the (still somewhat counterintuitive) reload speed increase, while making the non-Black Napalm MiG more viable.
As a result of this change, utilising non-Black Napalm MiGs ideally still remains a temporary strategy before Black Napalm is researched, but players are not as harshly disadvantaged or vulnerable during this window. This will help to expand strategic options and enrich gameplay.
