  • All functions have doctests that pass the automated testing.
  • All new algorithms have a URL in its comments that points to Wikipedia or other similar explanation.
  • If this pull request resolves one or more open issues then the commit message contains Fixes: #{$ISSUE_NO}.

These are good. Thanks for doing them.

But they seem far away from real-world problems. If we want readers to get interested in quantum computing, we need to solve problems that they can empathize with and get excited about. Can we tell a story about how some quantum algorithm is saving time or money or sick patients or reducing pollution?

We need to give readers reasons to reach for quantum algorithms.

@cclauss I completely agree with you, I will try to code up Deutsh-Josza as a step in this direction.
I added these initial programs to sort of build a gradual progression towards more complicated quantum algorithms.
