Hello I'm new to OR and trying to follow your docs

Got error right away: Error: global_route.tcl, 121 invalid command name "sta::endpoint_count"

Expected Behavior

Flow returns successfully

Environment

Ubuntu 24.04.4
OpenROAD 26Q1-951-g6975124cf2 (downloaded binary from precision)
git rev: dbf7e2bc2

Just run the Verify Installation script from docs

Hey, looks like this is a version mismatch between the prebuilt binary you downloaded and the flow scripts. The sta::endpoint_count command came in with a newer OpenSTA version that ships with recent OpenROAD builds, so older binaries won't have it.
Try building from source instead, that should fix it. Also the docs link itself is returning a 404 right now which probably made this even more confusing to debug as a first timer.
Can you share which version of OpenROAD-flow-scripts you're on? Just run git log --oneline -1 inside the flow-scripts directory and paste the output, that'll help narrow it down faster.

Yeah, I tried to build the OR toolchain with bazel and stuck with another bug

Eventually, I was able to build the OR with the simple setup.sh script, but haven't yet tried to run the verification flow 🙄

Good to hear you got it built! Now try running the verification flow and let us know if the same error shows up. If it does, share the output and we can dig into it further.

Rebuilt version OpenROAD 26Q1-2878-g770511339f and post-install verification worked fine.
