I have experience working on team projects using Git and GitHub, so I understand how important consistent commits are—not just for tracking progress, but for building good development habits. I’ve worked on projects where we used tools like Git hooks and GitHub Actions to help manage workflow and improve collaboration.

I want to fix this problem because I believe encouraging regular commits can help everyone stay engaged and accountable during the project. It also makes it easier to track changes and review work.

To fix it, I plan to either add a GitHub Action that checks each contributor’s commit activity weekly or add a small reminder in the code using tools like Husky or a custom script. This way, the team gets gentle reminders to commit regularly, and we can track participation more effectively.

I would be quite interested to see how this would work. Many of our projects are not build directly into the repo and/or participants create their own repos to complete the projects. Do you plan to offer guidance on how they can leverage these tools with each curriculum project even if not on a forked version of the repo?
