⚠️ This addon is not a Paper Plugin anymore!

It is now a "BlueMap Native" addon, which means it uses BlueMap itself as the loader, instead of Paper.
This means that this addon will now work on all platforms that BlueMap itself supports! (Even the CLI!)

Upgrade guide

  1. Shut down your server.
  2. Make a backup.
  3. Delete the plugins/BlueMapSignExtractor-1.x.jar file.
  4. Delete the plugins/BlueMapSignExtractor/ folder.
  5. Download the BlueMapSignExtractor-2.0.jar file from this release (scroll down a bit ⬇️)
  6. Place that file in the plugins/BlueMap/packs/ folder.
  7. Go into BlueMap's web folder bluemap/web/assets/. (This is not the config folder in plugins/!)
  8. Delete the bmse.css file that is in there.
  9. Start your server again.
The config folder you deleted will reappear with a new config file in it that you can edit to your liking.

What's changed

  • Ported from Paper Plugin to BMNative Addon.
  • Added support for signs from 1.21.5 and up (Text Components).
  • Added support for multiple colours on a single sign. Have a look!
  • Added support for the fancy text effects (bold, italic, underline, strike-through, obfuscated). Have a look!
  • Display double-sided signs a bit better.
  • Automatically update the signs around the same time when BlueMap itself updates.
  • Now using the Adventure library for most parsing tasks.
  • Probably more that I forgot about

It's been a while since the last update, but I've been hard at work improving the code of this plugin!
Hopefully, all this work should make it easier to port to other platforms in the future... 👀
I hope you enjoy it :)

What's Changed

Features

  • Better logging in case of errors or warnings
  • Better support for old worlds
  • Added a config!
    • Marker Set options
    • A fade-out distance option
    • A toggle for suppressing warnings about old/incompatible chunks

Optimisations

  • Optimised region file parsing speed. Some tests were almost three times faster!

In this update, I improved the compatibility with old and perhaps slightly broken worlds.
It also doesn't try to retrieve signs from chunks that haven't finished generating enough, anymore!

It already does most of the important things, like loading in the signs and displaying them as markers on the map, but it just isn't very polished yet.
So please keep an eye out for updates! The built-in update checker will let you know when there is one :)

Only tested on 1.19.2. I can't promise it'll work on earlier or later versions.
