Private instructions with GH_PAT not needed

I think the additional steps for a private repo are not needed any more

we can't know if people use private repos because they are private, right?

No, because I tested it with a private repo and it seems the addtional steps are not needed anymore for private repos. Probably something has changed behind the scenes with the default secrets.GITHUB_TOKEN
