@eliot-akira Hi, I hope you are doing well, I am back, adding new feature to mask the password on this when they used inspect element , there are multipe solutions, first is to use javascript which can show the license key still on inspect element or just use the code below

Then on the backend I can't seem to add a checker to check if the license is just (asterisk) and get the old license coz it saves the asterisk) on fields functions when you submit it. IS IT OKAY TO EDIT ON FIELDS END?

To prevent the user from seeing the license key, the best way would be to never send it to the frontend, by filling the field with a placeholder value on the backend when the form is rendered.

Then in the form submit handler (backend), it can check the submitted field value (perhaps match the placeholder partially, in case the user edited it) and replace with old value if needed.

Here's where the plugin settings are updated on form submit, in the framework:

There's a filter tangible_plugin_save_settings_on_submit that you can use from the updater to replace the license key placeholder with existing value. Looks like you can do that in the existing filter callback.

The latter is directly modifying the framework's function settings_actions. This is not recommended, because it will stop working when a newest version of framework is loaded by another plugin (or when the same plugin's vendor dependencies are updated).

I suggest using the filter mentioned above, which will work with future versions of the framework.

I see, the plugin you're working with, looks like BeaverDash from the prefix bdash_, is using the old version of the framework ("v2" on Bitbucket).

In that case, I suggest adding the same filter as the one in the new framework ("v3" on GitHub).

That way, you can avoid adding any plugin-specific code to the framework - and still have a way to modify its behavior, in this case changing the plugin settings being saved.
