STRATO

1. Provider Setup

1. Log in
2. Create/Pick a subdomain
3. Go to 'DNS' on that subdomain
4. Search for DynDNS and click 'manage'
5. Enable DynDNS
6. Create a secure password (if not done already)

2. CronDNS Setup

1. Press 'Add Domain'
2. In the Domain Field type your full domain + subdomain eg. test.example.com
3. Select 'Strato'

Username: Your Domain (eg. when using test.example.com, it's example.com)

Password: Your previously generated DynDNS Password

4. Click 'Done'

Namecheap

1. Provider Setup

Note

This uses the standard Dynamic DNS Functionality. Namecheap also has an API but it has special requirements

1. Log in
2. Press 'Manage' on your domain
3. Go to the 'Advanced DNS' Tab
4. Scroll Down until you see 'Dynamic DNS'
5. Enable Dynamic DNS
6. Copy the password
7. Press 'Add New Record' below the Dynamic DNS Section

Host: You wished subdomain eg. when wanting 'test.example.com', use 'test'

Value: 0.0.0.0 This will be filled in by CronDNS later on

Leave TTL at Automatic

8. Press 'Save all Records'

2. CronDNS Setup

1. Press 'Add Domain'
2. In the Domain Field type your full domain + subdomain eg. test.example.com
3. Select 'Namecheap'

Password: Your previously generated Dynamic DNS Password (You Copied)

4. Click 'Done'
