Issues
"Issues" are places where we discuss things. You can see the tab above. By default you can see the Issues that are open. You're also able to see those that have been closed.
Start an Issue when you want to discuss something, ask a question (you can ping people with the "@" and their username), report some new data. You'll find it easy to drag pictures and attachments into issues to share them. There are also more sophisticated ways of embedding images (NEED DESCRIPTION). Some file types are easy to drag and drop, but others (e.g. chemdraw files) are not so easy and sometimes need sharing as Zip files.
Issues work very well because you can cite other Issues with the "#" symbol and by doing so a "back-link" is automatically installed in that other Issue so that everything is connected.
An issue can be closed when it is no longer serving an active purpose, and when the key information or decisions have been incorporated into the project in some other way. Usually this means that the data have been added to the wiki, or the discussion has been resolved and actions taken, or the discussion has been taken on to a new Issue.
When closing an issue you must add a comment about why you're closing the issue, and what actions have been taken to ensure the Issue is not longer needed (e.g. "data incorporated into wiki" or "discussion has been taken on to issue #XX").
Some files (e.g. Chemdraws) may need to be zipped so that you can share them in Issues. You may also find that SMILES strings don't paste properly since the "@" symbol is interpreted as something active. You may then need to paste the strings as quotes.
