CNP46-ABHD6

An SGC Open Chemistry Networks Project (number 46) devoted to the target α,β-Hydrolase Domain-containing Protein 6.

Our collective aim is to find a potent, selective, cell penetrant, small molecule inhibitor ("chemical probe") of the protein ABHD6 in order to understand its role in biology, and to stimulate the search for potential drugs.

You contribute synthetic chemistry and in return the SGC offers biology. Together we can generate tool compounds to understand biology and validate drug targets to help cure disease. Everything is open, with all content governed by a CC-BY-4.0 licence.

If this sounds interesting, and you agree to the simple RULES, you can get started.

For the science background, head to the wiki or check out the living paper that will soon be getting under way.

For answers to all the questions you have, go to the FAQs.

If you'd like to contact someone to talk about contributing, then write something in an Issue (see the tab above), which is a good way to communicate openly. (Issues describe what currently needs doing and act as a discussion forum - you need a Github account but it's super easy and not spammy. To tag everyone involved in this project on Github use "@StructuralGenomicsConsortium/cnp46-abhd6". There's also an email address (chemistry@thesgc.org) you can use to ask questions.

Current scientific status of the project is on the wiki (you can always find the relevant tab above).

Some humans involved in this Open Chemistry Networks Project:
Professor Matthew Todd, UCL, Head of Chemistry Networks at the SGC @mattodd
Dr Danielle Hanke, UCL Ruochong (Edward) Xu, PhD student at UCL
Dr Jelena Thies, Senior Protein Scientist, UCL
Jodie Taylor, Protein Scientist, UCL
Professor Nicola Burgess-Brown, Head of Protein Science at the SGC, UCL

Pharma Champion: vacant
Sir James Murray Student Champion: Vacant

You can see all the other contributors in the Issues (tab above).

Online meetings for this project: Monthly big picture meetings involving the Pharma Champion. Recorded and put online. To be arranged

The licence for the content of this project is, unless otherwise stated, and as for all OCN projects, CC-BY-4.0. This means you can do whatever you like with the project content, including making money, provided you cite the project.

This project is part of the SGC's Open Chemistry Networks initiative.
