Enable toggles.ini restore & two others ideas

Hello again, still in love with your extension, that enhanced a lot the Gnome usability! I made brightness toggles, Asus Numpad button, anothers to launch JamesDSP audio settings or balance_power governor for my CPU : your extension is a must have!

Is there any way to use toggles.ini to restore config' when i reinstall Arch, or on my secondary laptop?

Another ideas : add an option to hide unused native toggles; add a polkit rule to bypass password when using pkexec or sudo; a toggle to...disable created button in your gui.

Yes, I agree there should be a restore feature. I'll include that in the next release.

There are other extensions that do this (I use Quick Settings Tweaks), but including it in this extension is an interesting idea. It may be outside of the scope for this extension, but I will look into it.

I think this would be a useful feature. I would need to spend some time figuring out how to implement it and manage the rules. I will test this out when I have some time to see if it's something that could be included.

An option to just hide or show the toggle button in the menu? I could see that being useful so you don't have to delete a button if you're currently not using it. I'll look into this as well.

QST isn't yet ready for Gnome 49. Editing up metadata.json works, but it creates a second and redundant Do Not Disturb Button.

Do you know how we can reduce the display delay of send-notify notifications?

Currently the only way to delete a toggle is to change the number of toggle buttons setting, but it always removes the last button first. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I will work on a better method that lets you choose what button to delete.

I took a look at the notify-send page you were talking about : so the command

notify-send -t 500 "Alert" "Very fast notification"

should work and reduce the display delay to 0.5 second, but it fails. Same if you pass -t 250000, the notification still live for few seconds.

I also deal with --urgency=$normal or -u critical command and so on, but nothing works.

Apparently the expire time feature does not work with GNOME

-t, --expire-time=TIME
The duration, in milliseconds, for the notification to appear on screen.
Not all implementations use this parameter. GNOME Shell and Notify OSD always
ignore it, while Plasma ignores it for notifications with the critical urgency level.

There is a extension that reduces delay (it works):

I'm not sure I need a full extension for this, but it appears (based on code analysis by LLM) that it adds a new temporary display value to Gnome Shell, along with Java. The default value is saved and then restored.

Unfortunately, a simple pkill notifiy-send after 2 seconds does not work, because notify-send just launches the notification, which is then handled by Gnome Shell (which refuses to read the --timeout option, so...)
