Prerequisites

  • Docker or Docker Engine installed and running on your host system (Docker Engine is recommended to avoid GUI memory usage).
  • Node.js (v20 or higher) if running locally without Docker.
  • Access to the Docker socket (/var/run/docker.sock on Linux/macOS or //./pipe/docker_engine on Windows).

Installation & Running

Using Docker Compose (Recommended)

  1. Clone the repository:

    git clone https://github.com/yourusername/DockLite.git
    cd DockLite
  2. Copy the environment variables template:

    cp .env.example .env

    Optional: Edit .env to change the PORT (default is 10000).

  3. Start the application:

    docker-compose up -d
  4. Access the web interface at http://localhost:10000 (or your configured port).

Running Locally

  1. Install backend dependencies:

    npm install
  2. Install frontend dependencies and build:

    cd client
    npm install
    npm run build
    cd ..
  3. Start the application:

    npm start
