Summary

  • Add a coordinated sfguide-create, sfguide-verify, and sfguide-ship workflow. Creation delivers a labeled draft, verification checks and fixes locally within authorization, and shipping owns approval-gated remote publication. Guides without images, companion repositories, or notebook submissions remain supported.
  • Use one Python helper in sfguide-verify for normalized paths, CommonMark-aware prose checks, optional companion snapshots, local evidence reports, and allowlisted ZIP packaging. All three skills discover this dependency by installed location rather than assuming sibling folders.
  • Finalize URLs and content before final verification and packaging. Changed guide/assets/companion files invalidate evidence; release checks reject FAIL/UNTESTED results and mismatched ZIP or staged content. Reports and private context stay outside the deliverable. Document current/destination repository URLs without assuming names or default branches.

Test plan

  • 27 unittest regressions pass with Python 3.11.6 and markdown-it-py 4.2.0, including a CLI validate -> draft -> attest -> release -> stage check sequence.
  • Cover file/folder resolution, ambiguous paths, optional assets/companions, transferred repository names, code/expected-output punctuation, missing/reference images, unsafe paths/symlinks, source changes, stale ZIPs, extra staged files, incomplete evidence, and overwrite prevention.
  • Re-run the original failing local fixture through the actual helper: mechanical PASS and DRAFT ZIP produced without assets/path repair; unperformed manual checks remain UNTESTED.
  • Validate all three skill manifests and run git diff --check. No validator errors; nonblocking Published-status warnings reflect the existing validator/CONTRIBUTING disagreement.
  • Review the staged inventory and scan for personal paths, account/connection identifiers, caches, and obsolete skill names.
  • Fresh isolated dependency installation and cross-platform testing.
  • Autonomous clean-install skill invocation and a representative live Snowflake tutorial with approved GitHub publication.

Boundaries

The helper never executes guide code or makes network calls. Manual attestations record caller-supplied evidence; they are not independent proof or tamper-resistant signatures. Synthetic acceptance tests stub link/disclosure evidence and do not establish live publishing success. Ignored companion files and external environment/data changes need explicit manual evidence. The helper compares staged working files, not the Git index; the shipping workflow requires final commit/PR diff review.

Prior work

These skills started in the internal DevRel repository before being prepared for this public submission:

sfguide-verify is new in this PR; it was split out of the shipping workflow.

Generated with Snowflake CoCo

verify-sfguide audits, live-tests, and sync-checks a Snowflake developer guide against its companion repo; ship-sfguide runs it, then polishes the guide, adds a pre-review checkpoint, and opens PRs to Snowflake-Labs. Personal accounts, paths, and connections are replaced with placeholders.

Share path resolution, Markdown-aware validation, source-bound evidence and exact-file packaging across creation, verification and shipping. Add regression coverage for optional companions/assets, preserved code, stale reports and mismatched releases.
