Last letter is missing for all clients

Hi, i getting for the clients not the complete names. That makes down the line issues like sending a file or using a exit node. I use a headscale server, maybe it has something to do with that problem.

Sending a file
"error looking up IP of \"macboo\": lookup macboo on 100.100.100.100:53: no such host\n"

Exit Node
"invalid value \"min\" for --exit-node; must be IP or unique node name\n"

Hello BeiNacht and thanks for your report. That was a new one :)

I'll take a look and see if I can figure it out, I might have some follow up questions along the way, but lets start with the first question.

Can you run the following command in a terminal and send me the output:
tailscale status --json

This output will list all of your tailscale machines etc, would be great to have the output from there so I can verify if it's something in how i parse out the output or if it's something else that's broken.

I think I found the problem, it's a bad boo boo with string manupulations for the host and magic dns domain name etc.

Please checkout the develop branch and build and run again, I think this solves your issue.

i can create this week a PR for a nix package to use it in NixOS

Thanks for the verification. And you are correct, exit nodes etc will need that as well.
I'll clean this up a bit and push the full fix to main once done!
