Cache Source objects in Django's cache

Thumbnailer's get_source_cache method hits the database to fetch associated Source object. Do you think it's good idea to store Source objects in Django's cache in order avoid these queries?

On our site we Netflix style carousels and Source selects add a significant number of queries. I have a pull request almost ready, please let me know if you're interested.

Any chance you have the pull request still? I would be interested in seeing it - I would like to use Django's cache to prevent the large number of database queries.
