Tournament organizer guide
This document details sendou.ink tournament platform features.
If you have permissions you can create a tournament using the same form that you use to add events to the calendar. Permissions have to be given manually by Sendou currently:
While you create a tournament you also need to select map list picking style. If you choose prepicked SZ/TC/RM/CB format then you also need to select tiebreaker maps at this stage:
If you select picked by TO you need to select the map pool (can also leave blank and do it later but won't be able to start brackets before it is set)
Select settings (info text on each included but if you don't understand something ask Sendou)
You choose format. Options currently are SE, DE, RR->SE, Swiss, & Swiss->SE. You can also include an "underground bracket" (optional bracket for teams who lost in the first two rounds of DE).
There is also support for Round Robin and Swiss to lead into many brackets ("top cut", "bravo bracket" etc.)
You can use the template function to copy over all settings from previous tournaments, including staff from that tournament. Only tournament name and date/time will not be filled.
Tournaments appear on calendar automatically with logo (has to be set manually by Sendou right now), team count, participant count, and ranked/unranked status:
Teams have to complete the steps if they want to play: team name, whether they want to host or not (system automatically takes it in account), fill roster (min 4, max 8, not configurable by TO at the moment), Splattercolour Screen preference and/or map picks if these are enabled, & check-in when it's open.
Check-in starts 1 hour before tournament starts and ends when tournament is scheduled to start. This is not configurable at the moment.
Info about team, map pool selected & tournament results.
If people want to participate and don't have a team they can register as a sub:
Click "Start the bracket" when check in is done and you are happy with the seeding (this option only unlocks at the set tournament start time). If you are using a map pool and not maps picked by the team, you can set map/mode for each game here. If you hover over a map/mode, games with the same combo will appear highlighted.
You can also select a pick/ban option to use for selected rounds - current options are counterpick and ban 2.
Teams on purpose only see one map at a time. The idea is to encourage the teams to report the score live so that bracket is always fully up to date and we could use this data for auto-updating results on stream for example.
TO's and staff can chat and report results here.
Can also click "Undo last score" or "Reopen match" by TO if mistakes were made.
Tool for seeding:
Sort automatically sorts teams based on their current (or previous) season SendouQ power average. Remember to click Save seeds after modifying the order.
Delete = obvious (be careful with this). By editing event info you can change some details such as event name or description.
Give permissions per user per tournament:
Organizer has same permissions as you expect adding/removing staff, editing calendar event info and deleting the tournament. Streamer can only talk in chats and see room password/pool.
Twitch account where the tournament is casted. Player streams are added automatically based on their profile data. You can also enter multiple accounts, just separate them with a comma e.g. "sendouc, leanny"
Download participant list in a couple different formats. One I use a lot is one that downloads not checked in participants and pings all the people in the rosters of those teams.
If tournament happens during the season it automatically counts for rankings (can be disabled in setings, gimmick and skill capped tournaments must always be unranked). Each set of the tournament is treated as a SendouQ match for the ranking essentially.
Teams can't drop so if they don't want to play anymore they have to take losses for the remaining matches.
Given manually still.
Added automatically after tournament is done and locked by TO.
Can be configured when bracket starts. Options are Bo3, Bo5, and Bo7 for elimination brackets, as well as Play All 3/5/7 for groups.
By default: Groups is all Bo3. Winners is first two rounds of Bo3 to Bo5. Losers is all Bo3 except Bo5 finals.
No built-in mechanism for that currently. As a workaround you can check out teams after check in is over. You can export a list that has the teams in registration order.
