First of all, I love the app and I'm very grateful for it. I read my post again and it was not so friendly as I hope I would've been.

I think it has the same meaning for me as for you, but I'm Italian and we know some Latin meanings explicitly. If you say "pedometer" I instantly hear "children counter", my friends do as well.
