This ImportError happens because scrapegraphai v1.64.2 expects to import init_chat_model from langchain-core, but langchain-core v1.1.1 does not provide this symbol. This is a known compatibility issue due to recent changes in both packages’ import paths and APIs (details, community thread).

You have a few options:

1. Downgrade langchain-core to a version where init_chat_model is still available (pre-1.0.0), or
2. Use a compatibility shim to patch the imports at runtime. Here’s a community-provided workaround:

Create a file called langchain_compat.py with the following content:

This workaround aliases the old import paths to the new ones and should resolve the ImportError (full example and discussion).

Be aware this is not an official fix and may break with future updates. For long-term stability, monitor for updates to scrapegraphai that officially support the latest langchain-core.
