ScottyStack (ScottyLabs Tech Stack) defines and documents the standardized* technical stack used across ScottyLabs projects to
- Provide clear guidance on what tech stacks are recommended and supported in ScottyLabs.
- Reduce fragmentation across projects to make it easier to manage as a committee and for members to work across projects.
*Rather than dictating a single option, we present you with multiple recommended options with explanations. Our goal is to empower you to choose the best option for your specific project needs.
We advocate for a balance between standardization and innovation for our tech stack. This approach allows each projects to maintain its unique distinctions while benefiting from shared expertise. Furthermore, If a member wish to use a technology not listed in the Wiki, they should be encouraged to do so to expand ScottyLabs knowledge base.
Lastly, we acknowledge that the effort to refactor functional code can be significant. Therefore, if the refactoring effort proved to be too substantial for parts of our projects, they will stay in their existing state.
This wiki focuses on TypeScript-based tech stack.
We also use Python in several ScottyLabs projects for a variety of reasons. If you’d like to use Python in your project, here are some helpful resources:
