Stationeers Gas Update Migration Tool

A tool to batch convert Stationeers save game files from the old gas type naming system to the new one.

What It Does

The tool performs the following conversions on your save files:

• RatioVolatiles → RatioMethane
• RatioLiquidVolatiles → RatioLiquidMethane

Installation

1. Download the compiled executable or build from source
2. Run the application - it will automatically detect your Stationeers save folder

Usage

1. Launch the Application: The tool will automatically scan for save games
2. Select Save Games: Check the boxes next to the save games you want to convert
3. Configure Backup: The backup option is enabled by default - uncheck it if you don't want backups
4. Convert: Click either:
   • "Convert Selected" to convert only the checked save games
   • "Convert All" to convert all available save games

File Locations

• Save games are located at: C:\Users\[YourUsername]\Documents\My Games\Stationeers\saves
• Backups are created at: C:\Users\[YourUsername]\Documents\My Games\Stationeers\saves\saves_backup_[timestamp]

Requirements

• .NET 8 Windows Desktop Runtime
• Windows 7 or later
• Stationeers installed with at least one save game

Error Messages

• "Save folder not found": Make sure Stationeers is installed and you have at least one save game
• "No save folders with .save files found": Create a save game in Stationeers first
• "Invalid save file format": The save file may be corrupted or not a valid Stationeers save
• "Access denied": Make sure you have permission to access the save file folder

Safety

• Always creates backups: Unless you explicitly disable backup, your original save files are preserved
• Non-destructive: The conversion process creates temporary files and doesn't modify originals until conversion is complete
• Error recovery: If something goes wrong, your backup is there to restore from
