UmdImageCreator is a UMD focused dumping program created specifically for Redump. Written in C/C++, it is meant to run directly off of a modified PSP console. Development is semi-open, usually with the use of internal test versions before public commits, though there has been no active development recently. MPF does not have the ability to run UmdImageCreator but it can parse its outputs to generate submission information files.

By default, UmdImageCreator rips UMDs to a standard ISO format. Also by default, media rips will include additional files representing various pieces of information about the image, the dumping process, and the original hardware.

For the purposes of Redump, UmdImageCreator is an accepted way of dumping UMD media. Most media information required for submission is included in the output files.
