Integration telegram and LiveChat (Omnichannel RocketChat) not working

Description:

I´m trying to integrate telegram messenger to rocket chat livechat.
I´ve searched the documentation and the forum and other resources, but was unable to find any information for integration telegram and livechat RocketChat.
I can't get it to work

Steps to reproduce:

1. registration in cloud rocket chat and connect it
2. installing the telegram application from the rocket chat store
3. registering a bot in a telegram, receiving a token and writing this token to the application’s telegram settings in rocket chat
4. Adding a telegram bot to a telegram account, and trying to write a message.

Expected behavior:

Rocket chat omnichannel has any messages from telegram

Actual behavior:

Rocket chat omnichannel has no messages from telegram

Server Setup Information:

• Version of Rocket.Chat Server: 3.10.4
• Operating System: Linux
• Deployment Method: docker
• Number of Running Instances: 1
• DB Replicaset Oplog: oplog is on
• NodeJS Version: v12.18.4
• MongoDB Version: 4.0.22

Client Setup Information

• Desktop App or Browser Version: browser /latest app rocketchat ios/android
• Operating System: windows/osx

Additional context

Can someone please point me in the right direction or any documentation or information with it?

You have followed the correct steps. I'll need some more info to understand what's happening.

1. Are you setting the Default Department Id or Name setting within the app
2. Could you share the following setting - Site Url (Administration -> General -> Site url). Here I want to confirm that the url is https

Just an FYI, To view the logs, goto App Page (Administrator > Apps > Telegram). There click on the menu item (3 vertical dots icon) and then select View Logs
The recent logs appear on the top and the important ones are apiExecutor, onSettingUpdated and executePostMessageSentHandler. If any errors are throws by the app they would appear here

Hello @murtaza98 . Looked it, The Site url is present with the https protocol and with a closing slash at the end

Yes, I found the logs. The fact of the matter is that there is nothing errors in the logs

Hey @VickoF I'm having trouble reproducing the issue you mentioned. I installed the Rocket.Chat server version 3.10.4 and installed the Telegram app there and it worked properly without any issue. Here is the recorded screenshot of the test. Could you verify if this is the process you are following

I was able to make it work at 3.4.10.

@VickoF be aware of the ngrok limitations. It will block your url if you pass the free tier request limit.

This App was previously working great at 3.4.10, but after 3.11.0 its on longer working.

This problem was also pointed at this issue: #19891

It may or may not be related to this PR: #16467

I tried giving permission to the app role at the permissions option. Same result..

I was able to find some places that should have something to do with it. But I have no clue browsing into Rocketchat code, so...

looks like the App Engine is trying to check if the TelegramApp has permissions to use this method. Maybe... if one create a method there it will pass this issue, but no clue whatsoever, ehehehe

I cant even try to edit the code insde the container, as its compile into one big file.

Anyway, hope our great developers help here :)

Hey @dudanogueira, Here's the fix for this issue - #20653

Basically you will need to update the apps engine npm package to 1.22.2 and that should solve the issue

Hi there @murtaza98 . Sorry for the long answer, I'm using version 3.11.1 Rocketchat (latest) in docker with nginx-proxy. After added token and after type "/start" in telegram, there aren't l no messages in omnichannel from telegram.

I added a welcome message to see if there is a connection to the bot at all. The result is the same, no messages are received. It seems to me that the application does not connect the bot's telegrams.

Maybe you need to forward or open some kind of port to work?
