Allows the user to define the Android ID.

Motivation

This is what identifies the user for the whole app, it could also allow reading on multiple devices. But also to not loose access to your account.

What do you mean "identifies the user for the whole app"? Is that the user credentials (login/pass), or some other form of authentication?

How is "Reading on multiple devices" not possible without patching?

If the user logs in once, the account is associated with the Android ID of the device. This is the only information the application needs to authenticate the user. (Yes, it is possible to retrieve the list of accounts and access them without a password quite quickly)

And the application allows only one active device, so impersonating the android ID of your first device bypasses this restriction.
