Taps are not recognized correctly

When tapping on items, sometimes taps are not recognized and the wheel doesn't change its selection, and sometimes when clicking on element above or below centred element, wheel changes selection but skips element that was actually clicked.
It is easily reproducable on the test app in this repo. Could you please give a hint how this can be corrected?

Please have a look! I was clicking on C multiple times, it didn't change. But then i clicked on D and selection changed to C. By the way, when i remove extraOffset from this line everything works. Can you tell me what extraOffset is needed for?
