Hia, Generally this means that something killed the output control MOSFET for the tip to go red. If you remove the tip does the device power up ? |

No , it fails to on the screen, the bit just get hot.

Hia,
You will likely get faster response times in the chat rooms for the
pinecil.

100% sure it is shorted mosfet have already replaced few on TS100. Maybe the tip got bad and there is no resistance between the terminals and caused the mosfet to blow. AFAIR it should be around 10 ohm. If the tip is shorted then trash it and replace the mosfet. This is form the net: HSM4313 is dual p-channel mosfet, 40v max Vds , Rds(on) 45mOhm (lower is better) , Current 6.5A (4.7A continuously) (higher is better) This one is SOP-8 , 5mm x 4 mm - SOIC-8 will be most likely compatible size wise, but you'll want to double check DMP4025 max 40v, 25 mOhm, 7.6A (not recommended for new designs, may not be available in the future): https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/diodes-incorporated/DMP4025LSD-13/3678208 From all of these you may want to pick one that has closest gate capacitance and other parameters closer to your original mosfet |

What I mean is that after the bit got hot to that extent, I unplugged it,
so since then wherever it's connected to voltage source, the screen fails
to come up, but the bit is hot

If you're gonna use voltages 20v or less, 30v rated mosfets would probably
be fine.
