Dear John @jstac,
I think the issues with the graphs in
lectures/_static/lecture_specific/short_pathare due to the order of drawing labels and edges. This might be because the packages we used have been updated. So, I changed the order and simplified the code. It should work well now. I believe using Inkscape is unnecessary since I revised the original work with Matt's help.Hope you like my revision.
