Questions about distance table

Hello!

Just a few questions about the distance table service.
First, according to the documentation (Server API), the results of the table service are network distance in 10th of seconds. So, it's not a distance, it's time. Is there a way to transform these results into actual distance (meters for example)?

Second, if I am wrong and the result is actually a distance, is it a distance in straight line? Or is it a distance considering the route between the locations?

Network distance means expected travel time in the network, i.e. not in a straight line. There's another issue that I can't find right now about translating that into meters. We are working on it.

So both the "table" and "viaroute" services are not supposed to return the same distance for the same 2 locations, right? The first return a distance in network distance and the second return a distance in meters. When I call those services for the same locations, the distance results are very different.

Maybe a suggestion would be to also return distances in meters for the service "table" (or create another service for it).

The table call returns network distance, ie. travel times. The viaroute call returns all sorts of things like estimated travel time, distance, route guidance, geometry, etc.

Have a look at the documentation in the Wiki. It will clarify what kind of information is returned.

Has there been any development on this? It's quite interesting to get distance instead of travel_time.
