First letter typed in URL field is ignored

I have a URL field with an existing value. When I remove the value and type a new URL, the first h triggers a validation error and ignored the input. The second time I type h it is accepted:

I am confused. Read the description and viewed the video. What is the issue?

I cannot show the keypress in the video. The first time I type h, it does not show h in the input and instead shows the validation message. I have to type h a second time before it shows up in the input. This only happens with the first letter.
