As discussed in #29 and on twitter, I would like to propose the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 (LGPL-3.0) for this project.

Changes

  • Change the naming of the license file to COPYING in accordance to the specifications of the Free Software Foundation.
  • Adds the LGPL license extension in COPYING.LESSER
  • Changes the license in the package.json
  • Changes the license notice in the README.md file

Context

The current license does not allow the usage of the software in closed-source software. I would like to reimplement this project as a Unity / Unreal plugin to be used by game developers. And by nature, games are traditionally not open-source (and probably won't be for the foreseeable future).
