Unable to edit exceptions in word boundary setting

Using DSpellCheck 1.4.24.0 in Notepad++ 8.4.4.

Trying to edit exceptions for "Split Words by Non-Alphabetic Characters Except:", the edits are reset to defaults every time after applying and reopening the Settings dialog. They do not get applied (so it's some save problem, rather than a problem at dialog open).
