The good news is that we get here at all.
The changes in smoke-me/filetest-with-simpler-macros restore the build on
HP-UX in this configuration

The bad news is that 2 tests fail. IIRC the first is a broken window that
I've not investigated.

I'm interested in the other failure, though. Is this still failing in blead? Have you had a chance to investigate further?
