Datalogic ServicePort tool

A tool created with Python to update firmware/configuration over the ServicePort of a Datalogic Scanner

Disclaimer: This file is an un-official tool and is not officially supported by Datalogic.

Current Supported devices

Magellan 900i (over usb). Other scanners are currently untested.

Requirements

Datalogic USB Com driver 7.1 or higher. Driver can be downloaded here: https://www.datalogic.com/eng/search.html?search_txt=usb-com+7.1

Warning

Please be aware that this tool can overwrite all the config of your scanner

Firmware files

The tool is able to update the firmware of the attached scanner. It uses DLRMUS (official tool) to do so. The latest firmware (DAT, S37 or SWU file) can be retrieved from the configrepository folder of Aladdin. If you don't have Aladdin installed you can download the latest Standalone Aladdin version from https://aladdin.datalogic.com/ Aladdin has an self update mechanism that can be used to download the latest version to your pc. All firmware is downloaded into the configrepository folder which usualy is located here: C:\ProgramData\Datalogic\Aladdin\datalogic-aladdin\assets\data\ConfigRepository

Config files

Config files can be made with the Aladdin configuration tool. The files are created with the Custom Configuration file option and needs to be saved as TEX files.

Connect to your scanner with Aladdin.

Configure your scanner to your needs.

Go to Custom Configuration File (Left bottom)

Press Read Now change the config name! This is very important because this name is used for comparison between the scanner and the config file

For example start with config01. If you create a second file with adjusted config name it config02 etc.

Now save the file and keep the name the same as your configuration name

Purpose

This tool can be used for staging of new terminals. But can also be used for remote configuration. When the file is run it will check the firmware/config with the firmware/config file in the same folder. When this matches the tool will exit itself.

Multiple files

If you have multiple firmware/config files in the directory of the tool the tool will prompt you to select the file you want to install.
