Description
The parameter mapping for PEtab v2 will look significantly different (PEtab-dev/PEtab#581).
- instead of "preequilibration" and simulation, there will be a variable number of periods
- the mapped values will not be identifier or float, but could also be more complex math expressions
- it will have to accommodate different properties or a model entity. not just its current value as before, but potentially also it's rate expression.
I have the feeling that much of the parameter mapping will be very simulator-specific, and I am wondering if it makes sense at all to have that in this library. For PEtab v1, building on the basic parameter mapping included led to much redundancy and inefficiency. I tend to leave the parameter mapping to the simulators.
Any opinions?
