Currently it's not supported, but I'll see if I can change the code so that it extends video_player instead.

I am using video player with in Chewie in production, need this CachedVideoPlayer support soon

Not yet, would have to redo the package to extend the video_player plugin so it can be used with other packages.

If you are willing to work on it, PRs are always welcomed.
