Burning a chicken in the furnace causes a softlock

I had a look and found the error

MissingReferenceException: The object of type 'Chicken' has been destroyed but you are still trying to access it.
Your script should either check if it is null or you should not destroy the object.
viva.Chicken.OnMechanismFixedUpdate () (at Assets/Scripts/Chicken.cs:225)
viva.GameDirector.FixedUpdate () (at Assets/Scripts/GameDirector.cs:120)

Looks like GameDirector is handling the updates and the chicken was not removed from the list on destroy.

So a few options

1. Add a OnDestroy() to remove it from the list.
   1. On the Chicken
   2. On parent class Mechanism
2. Have the chicken handle its own updates with the built-in version of FixedUpdate.
