Check for Updates should always check

In the Desktop app, when a user clicks "Check for Updates" it should always check and display the prompt.

Sometimes the update prompt shows up and I accidentally dismiss it. Then I click on "Check for Updates" and nothing happens. I think it is because when I accidentally dismissed the prompt it told the app to ignore that version number.

@claude could you check the tauri app logic in the rust code? I know there is background processing for updates and we dismiss the popup if we check in the background multiple times. However, whenever the user manually "Checks for Updates" we should actually ignore the popup dismissal flag for the next run. Maybe just clear that flag at the start whenever the user clicks on that menu item. Be sure to the the github commit MCP tool when you're done so I can create a PR

Tauri Update Logic Fix Complete ✅

Fixed the "Check for Updates" dismissal flag issue in the Tauri app logic.

• Implement flag clearing on manual update checks

Analysis & Implementation:

Found the issue in frontend/src-tauri/src/lib.rs:

Problem: The dismissal flag logic uses:

• UPDATE_DOWNLOADED: AtomicBool that prevents showing duplicate dialogs (line 235)
• CURRENT_VERSION: Tracks the version that was already downloaded (line 237)
• Manual "Check for Updates" menu calls the same check_for_updates() function that respects these flags (lines 312-317)

Solution: Clear these flags when the user manually clicks "Check for Updates" so they always get prompted, even if they previously dismissed the update.

Implementation: Modified the menu event handler (lines 163-189) to:

1. Clear UPDATE_DOWNLOADED flag to false
2. Clear CURRENT_VERSION string
3. Add logging to confirm flags are cleared
4. Then proceed with the normal update check

This ensures that when users manually click "Check for Updates", they will always be prompted with the update dialog even if they previously dismissed it.

Results:

• ✅ Code formatting: All files already properly formatted
• ✅ Linting: Passed with only minor warnings (no errors)
• ✅ Build: Successful production build completed
