date format convert method that use in opensips.cfg

if the system timezone not use GMT, then can not got "GMT" format by $time pvar in opensips.cfg. but, SIP restricts the time zone in SIP-date to "GMT", while RFC 1123 allows any time zone.
so, I think may be support a method that can covert date format.

It is possible to use get_timestamp to generate date/time string in GMT. :)

It should be easier and enough to add a pvar for time in GMT if you only want to generate SIP Date header.

I think the function get_timestamp return current system time. but current system timezone not GMT.
so get_timestamp return value is not GMT.
may be have something that I miss it , please tell me.

First, I was joking. It is definitely not a good idea to use get_timestamp (or other pvars such as $Ts) to generate GMT time string. But it is possible. If you read the code of OpenSIPS, you can see it uses C gettimeofday and time functions to get the number of seconds and microseconds since the Epoch. They are not timezone depending. As long as you set the correct timezone, you can get correct time in seconds from the Epoch. And then, you can generate correct time string in GMT.

Hi @zhouxiaoqiang - in C code, the setting of the timezone is done via the tzset() function - this will affect all time related function (like ctime() , localtime() , mktime() , and strftime() ).
The question is - how to provide the TZ information at script level - should be a global param for opensips script ? should be a script variable to be set/reset in script ?

If time strings in other timezones are needed, the best way may be to provider a function with a timezone parameter to get time string. The timezone parameter is better to use offset instead of using timezone name. The implementation may be a little tricky but also not difficult. A script variable should also work.

Well, adding something particular to GMT is simple and fast, but hackish ....
What about extending $time(format) to $time([tz:]format) ?? and similar we can do for $Tf, like $Tf(tz) ?
